Recommendations for legislators

Changes to regulations must:
a) Allow the use of new technologies in the administration of justice and ensure that these tools guarantee due process and transparency.
b) Promote the adoption of digital tools by the Judiciary, without closing the traditional channels to access justice.
c) Take into consideration the experiences of some state judiciaries in Mexico to ensure that the proposed reforms do not end up preventing the use of already existing solutions that have proven to be effective.
d) Take into account the limits to the use of new technologies. For example, it is necessary to reflect on which cases trials can be held by videoconference and give flexibility so that it is the judge who decides whether it can be held or not.

The technological development of the country should be encouraged. If internet coverage is not expanded, digital justice will end up being a luxury.
3.
Digital justice must not sacrifice transparency and publicity.
4.
The use of tools in the administration of justice must allow it to be more efficient without dehumanizing it.
